<description>This is a real story about the serious gap in health care coverage for young adults. In November 2006, our daughter Aimee, then 19, went in for her annual dental cleaning and the growth was found in her mouth. She was sent directly to the emergency room at Jackson Hospital in Miami. Eventually we learned the diagnosis was a malignant head and neck cancer, angiosarcoma. This was our second cancer battle with Amiee. She spent four years fighting rhabdomyosarcoma when she was four. As difficult as it was when she was a child, this time around things have been much, much harder on her, and on our family.

Soon after our discovery, we learned things were going to get worse. Our healthcare dropped her because she was enrolled in fewer than 15 units at Miami Dade College where she was studying Special Education. She was attending school part time so she could work at Miami Dolphin Stadium while attending classes. Please visit our website for more information and ways to help.
