On Friday night in Darien Lake, Lil Wayne and Drake kicked off their first ever joint tour! In a summer filled with an abundance of concerts to attend, the Drake VS Lil Wayne tour certainly stands out from the bunch. It is a once in a lifetime experience that you probably won’t ever see again and something you can only believe if you are there in person. We have seen the magic Drake and Wayne create whenever they grace the stage together, but now you get nearly three hours of the Young Money hitmakers trading shots back and forth. It is certainly a sight to behold.

The hype surrounding the tour has been astronomical ever since it was announced that the boss and his protege were taking their act to 31 cities across the United States. Needless to say, they have exceeded every expectation and have truly delivered a show of a lifetime. Between the antics of Wayne and Drake, epic kung-fu themed video interludes, song choice, pyro, crazy light schemes, DJ battles, Drake flying (Yes, Drake flew) and the ability for fans to directly interact with the artists through the Drake VS Wayne app, every concert goer was turned up every second of the way.

Throughout the night, Wayne and Drake traded hit for hit performing songs like “Blunt Blowin”, “Mr. Carter”, “Steady Mobbin”, “Up All Night”, “Started From The Bottom”, “We Made It”, “Trophies”, “Money On My Mind”, “Sky Is The Limit”, “0 To 100”, “Leather So Soft”, “A Milli”, “6’7’’”, “D’usse”, “Headlines”, “Hold On” and plenty more. Not to be outdone by Drake’s singing talents though, Wayne proclaimed he can sing too and performed “How To Love” to the crowds enjoyment. The concert literally felt like a compilation album called “Wayne And Drake’s Greatest Hits”.

After performing solo, the duo took the stage together on top of a 15 foot platform, trading jokes, as they battled to see who could win the crowd over the best. Performing one hit after the next, the crowd was easily the biggest winner of the night. They also bet 10 grand on a whim to see who’s DJ could get the crowd hyped up more. To top it all off, Drizzy and Weezy also performed “HYFR”, “The Motto”, “Grindin” for the first time together as well as their other Carter V collab, “Believe Me”, which was the first time that happened since Summer Jam.

One of the cooler aspects of this tour is the ability for fans to take sides through the Drake VS Wayne app, the first ever app that lets concert goers control the action. Fans can give the artists power ups and also vote for who won the contest. Wayne took home the 1st place prize for the first night and second night, while Drake won on Sunday night. The battle will be ongoing throughout the summer and only you can decide the winner!
