What made the book so special, Bloomberg News reports, is that it was signed by the Oracle of Omaha himself - Warren Buffett.
Buffett has long practiced the value investing principles set forth by Graham in "The Intelligent Investor" and "Security Analysis." Value investors buy stocks of intrinsically solid companies - those with a predictable revenue stream and a high-quality management team - at low prices and hold them for decades.
That simple strategy has helped Buffett become one of the world's wealthiest men - and he credits his success to Graham's wisdom. "I thought [when I first read 'The Intelligent Investor'] that it was by far the best book about investing ever written," Buffett wrote in the preface to the book's fourth edition. "I still think it is."
Graham's books aren't the only source of good value-investing advice. The annual reports published each year by Buffett's holding company, Berkshire Hathaway, are a must-read for would-be value investors.
