How to Open a Bank Account

Opening a bank account is actually very easy. Once you have chosen the bank then you can either visit the bank itself or the banks website.

Follow these easy steps and you’ll have your own bank account in no time.

1. Choose the right bank.
2. Go to bank itself or the bank’s website. If you have questions you might want to take the time to go into a branch and ask for help.
3. Pick the product you want. Most banks allow you to mix and match to get the financial services that you need and want. Choose what you. want, for example “checking” or “free checking” or “savings.”
4. Provide information. You’ll need to give the bank your name, birthday, social security number, driver’s license number and whatever else they ask for.
5. Read the terms. Make sure you read the terms: you are agreeing to follow certain rules. So read and agree to the terms.
6. If you open inside a bank branch then you’re done. If you open online you may have to print out a form and mail it in.

After your account is open the bank will mail you your checkbook and debit cards.
