This is "advise?" Seriously? $500 is a joke, as that may cover rent, but not rent + utilities for most school students!

Yea, big schools like Harvard University may, but what about the regulars at the local college/university?

Mom and Dad, "extra financial aid," Get a Part-Time, Paying Job, or Another...WHEN was this article written??? How many people, post 2010, have parents that can afford to pay out what's needed? Are you talking about going to school part time? Then, -maybe- you can hold 2 - 3 jobs, counting the internship. HOWEVER, a f/t student, trying to hold two jobs, is almost impossible. Don't let the stories you hear of "people overcoming all the odds," unless you hear the FULL story...it's often skewed! "Extra financial aid" doesn't exist, unless you're refering to student loans, and that's just insane. If you can't afford it, based on what you're making, and a combo of grants/scholarships and school aid, then maybe, like housing prices, the cost of school is TOO HIGH! You have college presidents making 6-FIGURES! Guess how they got it?
