My beloved grandmother told me, "Fools' names and fools' faces are often seen in public places." She was very wise, and I never forgot this advice from her. Guess what she would have thought of current social networking websites?

This is one topic I never agreed with. I dont think it is fair to employees or future employees to be judged based on their facebook/myspace profiles. Perhaps I dont fully understand how this process works and perhaps if I were a hiring manager I would see a reason to utilize this tool but Im just confused on how anyone was ever hired before. To me, if I were to go back to when we didnt have facebook/myspace, this would be equivalent to the hiring manager going to each and every one of my friends and family members to interview them on my attitude/personality/character.
