The Peace Corps is a good place, if you are able to serve as a salaried staff employee. Other than that the Directors thank you for your time at the end of your 2 years without providing tangible support in job placement or other assistance. Additionally, volunteers MUST provide for themself and expect to receive NO assistance should they come into harms way.

That first comment... Wow. That is the typical spoiled American attitude that creates negative perceptions in developing countries towards the U.S. Peace Corp volunteers work HARD for very little pay, often in places that are over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. I admire their work and hope to some day do the same.

You've obviously never volunteered for the Peace Corps or for any other organization. Volunteers make change, they are change. We might not be saving the world, but we are making life better for thousands of people. People are not just doing nothing for two years they are teaching underprivledged children, they are helping run programs for the people who need them most, for us this is our job. You're apathetic attitude is sad. There is more to life then working a traditional job here in the US.

Peace Corps is a joke for bums without a job. I HATE the Peace Corps. All it is is a chance for people to do nothing for two years, I mean what change can you make?
