Lil Wayne, Tyga and Nicki Minaj performed last night at the BET Awards. The YM team also took home some serious hardware. Check out the recap after the jump.

Best Group BET Awards

On Sunday night, Young Money won big and shut it down at the 2014 BET Awards hosted by Chris Rock.

PERFORMANCES

Lil Wayne was the first performer from Young Money to take the stage. Weezy performed his new hit “Krazy” trukked out in his clothing line Trukfit. After performing the latest single off the upcoming album #CarterV, he jumped into the first single off the album “Believe Me” featuring Drake. Tune, showing off his musicality, even changed the beat up towards the end, which added a nice gospel/rock touch to the already huge track that has taken over everywhere.

However, Weezy wasn’t done with just two songs. To everyone’s surprise, he appeared on stage for Chris Brown’s “Loyal”, where he kicked off the first verse of the song. Tyga, who was only added to the show lineup earlier last week, popped up on stage to deliver an adrenaline packed verse too. To mention, Travis Barker also put on an awesome drum solo performance while Breezy did some freestyle dancing, which fueled the crowds excitement.

That may have been enough for a typical rap group, but for Young Money, that was just the beginning. Nicki Minaj had perhaps one of the most anticipated performances of the night, where everyone was waiting to see what she would do for her new “Pink Print” single “Pills N Potions”. Well, she definitely had a bunch of surprises in store. She came out on the back of a smokey motorcycle, performing “Chi Raq” before she sped off as the instrumental to “Pills N Potions” came over the speakers. The monitors then lifted to reveal a stage filled with a bunny rabbit, trippy mushrooms, back up singers and a ballerina. The Queen then reappeared on top of a giant mushroom with a spiral staircase, before she made her way down for the second verse of the song.

AWARDS

Besides their amazing performances, Young Money also took home a number of big awards. Drake won “Best Male Hip-Hop Artist”, Nicki Minaj took home the award for “Best Female Hip-Hop Artist” for the fifth year in a row and Young Money took home the award for “Best Group”.
